Energy is cheapest during Off-Peak times, generally between 11pm - 7am. Having a Powerwall 2 and/or an Electric Vehicle allows you to use and store energy at it's cheapest cost from the grid.
This is a key benefit of battery storage in the Winter months where Solar energy production is less. Meaning that even if the suns not out you are using extremely cheap energy through out the day.
