Heat pump services
Everything from the heat-loss survey to the annual service.
A heat pump is half a plumbing job and half an electrical job. Sureline Plumbing & Heating deliver the heating side and Vanadium the design, electrical and MCS side, so every part of the job below has a named team behind it and one point of contact for you.
How it works, in order
What we do.
Step 1: Heat-loss survey
Room-by-room heat-loss calculation to size the heat pump and check radiators and pipework, with a straight answer on suitability.
Step 2: System design
Unit selection, cylinder, emitter upgrades and controls designed as one system, with solar and battery included if you want them.
Step 3: Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Vanadium holds the MCS heat pump certification, so we check eligibility at survey and make the grant application ourselves. It comes straight off the price.
Step 4: Installation
Sureline fit the outdoor unit, cylinder, pipework and radiators; Vanadium run the supply, connect the unit and notify the network operator.
Step 5: Commissioning and handover
The system commissioned together, the app set up and the controls explained before we leave.
Step 6: Servicing and support
Annual service to keep the warranty valid and efficiency up, with reminders and a maintenance plan if you want one.

Radiators and cylinders
The bits people forget to budget for.
A heat pump runs at a lower flow temperature than a boiler, so some radiators may need to be larger and a hot water cylinder is usually required. The survey identifies exactly which, and the quote includes them, so there are no surprises on install day.

Heat pump + solar + battery
The cheapest heat is from your own roof.
A heat pump is the biggest electrical load in the house. Feeding it from solar in the shoulder months and from a battery charged overnight on a cheap tariff in winter brings the running cost well below gas. We design all of it together and make one DNO application.
Good to know
Common questions.
Which heat pumps do you fit?
Daikin Altherma, Vaillant aroTHERM, Mitsubishi Ecodan and Midea are the units we specify most, chosen for efficiency, noise levels and UK support.
How much does it cost after the grant?
Most homes come in between £10,000 and £14,000 installed before the grant. After the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant that is typically £2,500 to £6,500, or £1,000 to £5,000 on the £9,000 oil and LPG rate. The heat-loss survey gives you a fixed price.
How long does an installation take?
Most homes are two to four days on site depending on radiator and cylinder work, after the survey, design and grant approval.
Do you service heat pumps you did not install?
Yes, Sureline service most major brands. Ask when you enquire.
