Solar, Battery, EV Charger & Heat Pump Installation in Rural Cornwall

Job overview

Living in a rural Cornish cottage, the homeowner faced challenges with frequent power outages, some lasting up to six hours, and concerns about the reliability and cost of their aging oil boiler. Seeking greater energy independence and financial stability, they decided to invest in a full suite of renewable energy solutions to future-proof their home.

Vanadium designed and installed a robust system tailored to the property's needs. This included 12 sleek black solar panels on the roof, paired with a Tesla Powerwall for 26 kilowatt-hours of battery backup, ensuring continuous power during grid interruptions. To further electrify the home, a Tesla EV charger was installed for their electric vehicle, and an efficient Midea air source heat pump, connected to an eCYL heat pump cylinder, replaced the old oil boiler, providing sustainable heating and hot water.

The new system has delivered significant benefits, providing the homeowner with a resilient energy supply and eliminating reliance on oil. They now report spending approximately 25% of their previous energy costs, a substantial saving that has proven particularly timely given recent energy price fluctuations. The integrated solution offers peace of mind and a sustainable future for their Cornish home.
